From hen do brunches to wedding morning grazing, Chevvar Cheese provides an Instagram-worthy spread of antipasti-style food for special occasions

Created by Chevonne Alexander during lockdown, Chevvar Cheese is your  one-stop shop for grazing boards, tables and boxes. Each one is hand-crafted, with plenty of options to suit your special occasion.

Chevvar Cheese caters for all sorts of special events from birthdays to baby showers as well as weddings.

With all designs, the Ayshire-based artisan carefully lays out a selection of crackers, oatcakes, meats, soft and hard cheeses, fruit and dips to create a beautiful spread. She can fill an entire table and even spell out words or numbers as well as making aesthetic patterns and shapes.

As well as this, Chevvar Cheese offers smaller cheese boards and as graze boxes in various sizes. So, whether you want to treat your hens to a grazing table while you play party games, sip prosecco and snap photos, or you’re looking for something a bit different for your wedding morning, she’s got you covered.

Chevonne’s passion was clear as she told us about her business: “What started as a hobby and escape during the madness of Covid led me to start catering for the local nursing homes and hospital staff as an act of kindness and to thank them for their work. This led me to starting my own business (around four months ago now) offering a wide range of cheese gifts, graze tables and cheese art.”

She then saw an opportunity to bring her creativity to the Scottish wedding industry and get involved in peoples’ special days: “I absolutely love a wedding and being part of that is even more exciting!

“Being a part of someone’s most special day is a privilege and I love their reactions. I always feel a little emotional to be able to bring them some happiness on their big day.”

Chevvar Cheese kept everyone at Opus Couture’s anniversary party well-fed!

Recalling some of the wedding events Chevvar Cheese has catered, a hen do at Lochside House Hotel, Lodges and Spa, a barn wedding and an anniversary celebration for bridal shop Opus Couture were among Chevonne’s favourites.

Speaking about her cheese art, the business owner proudly explained: “I can make almost anything out of and look pretty with cheese. I recently made the word ‘baby’ out of cheese and various antipasti and it was just stunning; almost too good to eat!”

She added: “I am a perfectionist and have such attention to detail. I love being able to create my customer’s ideas out of cheese and love a challenge!

“The world is my oyster and I hope that I can grow and provide grazing options to more couples on their special day, as well as catering for events throughout Ayrshire and beyond.”
