The Savings Bank, a stunning Victorian-era listed building, showcases breathtaking architecture and beautifully preserved original features. Located just south of Glasgow's city centre, this exclusive venue specialises in beautiful private events and weddings that won’t break the bank.

Construction of the current premises began in 1889 with a vision of transforming a simple hatter’s shop into a radical new Savings Bank, working to put the pennies back into the pockets of Glasgow’s working class. After a change in ownership, The Savings Bank went on to become a raucous Greek restaurant and a notorious poker den – each iteration leaving its unique mark on the building.

The venue was thoughtfully restored to blend its incredible original features with modern upgrades and expert staff, and entering through the intricately designed wrought iron gates instantly transports you to a time of refined grandeur. The mezzanine offers a unique perspective on the venue’s original Victorian dome, a true hidden gem visible only from within. The distinctive wedding hall seamlessly combines historic charm and state-of-the-art AV capabilities, accommodating up to 120 seated guests across the main floor and mezzanine, with space for up to 225 for evening celebrations.

Our dedicated wedding coordinators will work with you to ensure every detail reflects your personal style, and our independent chefs provide both sit down meals and banquets tailored to diverse tastes, inspired by the venue’s 140-year heritage and local flavours.

Our fully renovated bar is open until 1am and features a broad selection of spirits, beers, wines and soft drinks, and we’d be delighted to craft your favourite cocktails for a more personalised touch. For added comfort, we have a bridal suite complete with an en-suite shower and restroom - a space to relax and take a breather during the whirlwind of your wedding day.
