What better way to get a sense of a venue than attending a venue open day to see it all done up? Tour these Scottish wedding spaces, speak to the wedding team and suppliers and let the planning begin

There are lots of wedding venues to choose from in Scotland, but it's hard to know which place is right for you until you visit in person and start to picture how your wedding could look.

A venue open day is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for a space and the wedding team, so you can narrow down the right place to get married.

What is a venue open day?

While you can book appointments to get a tour of wedding venues throughout the year, an open day is a more informal way to go along and see the venue in person.

Typically the wedding spaces will be dressed to show off how they could look on your wedding day and you'll also get the chance to speak to their wedding team and ask any questions you have.

What to expect from a venue open day?

You'll likely get a guided tour of the venue along with some other visitors, and there might be some areas you can wander through at your own pace.

This is a great opportunity to ask lots of questions about prices, availability  packages and what's included when booking the venue.

Venues will sometimes have their favoured suppliers there as well, so you can start to plan even more of your wedding.

Tips for attending a venue open day

Have an idea of what you're looking for before you go. Think about your guestlist size and any must-haves for the venue, such having accommodation, being exclusive use, or being accessible.

Pick up any brochures they have so you'll be able to refer back to prices and other numbers that you might forget. Make notes while you're there so you remember any little details, things you liked and the answers to your questions.

Check ahead of the event if you need to buy/reserve a ticket, register your interest, or if you can just turn up on the day.

July

It's peak wedding season! Venues are especially busy hosting weddings this time of year and as such have less availability to host wedding open days and evenings.

We at Tie the Knot Scotland will be sure to update this space accordingly – so be sure to check back in again soon!
