Couples who are just engaged may want to hold off to see how the renovations of Garrion Tower in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, shape up for 2024
Local businesswoman Nicole Rudder acquired a 19-bedroom listed building for £250,000 in Wishaw with the dream of turning it into a swish wedding venue and luxury hotel in just a couple of years.
The former home of the Bishops of Glasgow and Galloway has been neglected over time but Nicole sees its potential as something really special. It’s a project that she’s managed to rope in her own family and friends to help with and she’s keen to involve as many local businesses to help restore the property as she possibly can.
STEEPED IN HISTORY
As well as providing jobs for the local area, Nicole sees a gap in the wedding market for the historical house.
“All the photos that we’ve seen of the castle, we’re keen to recreate,” says Nicole, who owns successful claims company G4 Claims.
“People from this area can choose to get married somewhere where their great-gran used to work.”
